Publishing a Book with AAR/OUP
Founded on the premise that scholars know best what books are needed in the field of religion, the AAR publishing program with Oxford University Press produces quality scholarship for religion scholars and their students. The AAR has published hundreds of titles, many of which have become essential tools in the development of our field and in the training of new scholars.
AAR books are selected through careful evaluation by reviewers who contribute their services. Our editors are all scholars who know the field and the relevant scholarship covered by their series. In addition, each series has an editorial board whose members play a vital role in identifying, evaluating, and selecting works for publication.
The AAR is expanding its publications program through Oxford University Press and seeking quality manuscripts in five different series. The information in each of the series describes the mission of that series and provides the information needed to contact a series editor should you have a project or manuscript that you would like to submit for consideration.
The AAR's Publications Committee oversees the publications program. Send comments and inquiries regarding the general publications program to committee chair Timothy Beal.
