Your AAR staff continues to work toward holding the Annual Meeting in Boston, Nov. 21-24, 2020. We are aware of the uncertainty and contradictory projections related to the COVID-19 pandemic and with health and safety as a priority, we will continue monitoring the guidance of governments and health experts as we plan and make decisions. Should any changes need to be made related to the 2020 Annual Meeting, we will promptly notify you.

As the learned society representing the most comprehensive membership in the field of the study of religion, the American Academy of Religion sponsors a variety of services that assist individuals and institutions in the employment process. Employment Listings
Employment Listings is the most comprehensive public record of job listings for credentialed scholars in religion. It is available online only.
While anyone, regardless of membership status, can advertise in Employment Listings, you must be a current member of the American Academy of Religion or Society of Biblical Literature to view the listings.

Employment Center
Held every year at the AAR and SBL Annual Meetings, the Employment Center provides services designed to facilitate communication between hiring institutions and job candidates. The Employment Center features job listings, candidate credentials for review, a message center, and an interview facility.

Employment Trends
The AAR conducts surveys to track hiring trends in the field of religion. Results are updated annually.
