Your AAR staff continues to work toward holding the Annual Meeting in Boston, Nov. 21-24, 2020. We are aware of the uncertainty and contradictory projections related to the COVID-19 pandemic and with health and safety as a priority, we will continue monitoring the guidance of governments and health experts as we plan and make decisions. Should any changes need to be made related to the 2020 Annual Meeting, we will promptly notify you.

Charge: The Regions Committee promotes the work of the Academy's regional groups by recommending policies and good practices in administering regional groups; fostering communication between and among regional secretaries and other regional officers; and administering the regional development grants program.
Composition: Ten regionally elected coordinators and the AAR Regions Director, who serves as committee chair. The AAR Regions Director is a member of the AAR Board of Directors. Each Regionally Elected Coordinator (REC) serves as a member of their Regional Board of Directors.
Term of Service: AAR Regions Director serves a three-year, non-renewable term. Each Regionally Elected Coordinator serves a term of three years, with the possibility of re-election for one additional three-year term. All RECs must have current AAR membership.

Spring Regional Meetings

Each Regional Coordinator should attend their region's meeting and be involved in the planning of the meeting. RECs are the only officials authorized by the AAR Executive Office to sign contracts with universities, hotels, and conference centers that provide facilities and other amenities for regional meetings.

After each regional meeting, the RECs should report any changes to their region's board to the AAR Executive Office.

Each REC serves a term of three years, with the possibility of re-election for one additional three-year term. All RECs must have current AAR membership.

RECs must submit a financial report and annual report to the AAR Executive Office at the end of each fiscal year.

RECs are expected to keep a formal record of the proceedings and activities of their region, including minutes of regional executive committee meetings, business meetings, and meetings at the AAR Annual Meeting. Copies of the region's records, including any reports, contracts, and meeting programs, should be sent annually to the AAR Executive Office.

Assist in speaking with members and handing out information at the Regions Booth during the Annual Meeting.
Timeline of Activities:
