  1. Undergraduate Survey Reminder: We need your data! The second survey of undergraduate departments is in the field, and we need your help. If you are a department chair or program director, please complete the survey as soon as possible. We need a strong response rate if we are to assist departments in making the case for themselves to deans, provosts, and presidents.  If you don't know whether you've filled out the online questionnaire, if you have questions, or if you need help, contact Kyle Cole, 404-727-1489,  kcole@aarweb.org.

  1. Committee Openings: The following committees and task forces will have openings in 2007:  International Connections, Public Understanding of Religion, Status of Racial & Ethnic Minorities in the Profession, Status of Women in the Profession, Teaching & Learning, Religion in the Schools, and Employment Information Advisory.  If you want to nominate a colleague or yourself, please send a letter explaining your interest and a C.V. to sgray@aarweb.org.

  1. Twenty-Five and Counting:  We’d like to hear from anyone whose AAR membership has continued without a break since at least 1982.  Please send an e-mail to firstyear@aarweb.org to let us know what year you started with the AAR.  Thank you for helping us update our records.

  1. Islamic Studies Specialist:  The Scholars at Risk Network is seeking sponsorship for a scholar of Islamic Studies from Azerbaijan.  The individual has received a fellowship up to $20,000 subject to identifying a host and matching funding for a one-year research position.  Your suggestions of institutions that may be interested would be very much appreciated.  Please contact Carla Stuart, Senior Program Officer, at 212-998-2179 or carla.stuart@nyu.edu.

  1. A New Look: JAAR has a brand new look and a brand new editor.  Look for the spring issue, or you can see a preview online at:  http://jaar.oxfordjournals.org/.

  1. Regional Meetings:  Meetings of the ten AAR regions occur in the spring. Check http://www.aarweb.org/regions/ for details. All AAR members are welcome to participate in any region's activities.

  1. Your Membership Status:  Your membership is current for 2006. Thank you. Membership resources are available at http://www.aarweb.org/membership/.
